Life Drawing: 3 minute charcoal sketch

Attending local Life Drawing classes, working fast and experimenting with different media.

Life Drawing is fun and fast. It can be both intense and liberating.

Usually, I find it relaxing in that I have to focus on observing and mark making; I forget about the school e-mails and the to-do list.

It demands great concentration. I love it but I’m not sure whether my knowledge of anatomy helps at all as I observe the shapes and spaces!

Some of the drawings and paintings which I like best are the ones that took least time to complete with brave quick marks, taking risks. Lovely smudges.
